Mycology The Study OF Fungi

Mycology is the branch of biology concerned with the study of fungi, including their genetic and biochemical properties, their taxonomy and their use to humans as a source for tinder, traditional medicine, food, and entheogens, as well as their dangers, such as toxicity or infection.

Cultures

fungal culture is a procedure used to determine if fungi are present in an area of the body. Fungi are microorganisms that thrive in moist, dark places, such as shoes, damp locker rooms, or the folds of the skin. Some types of fungi are harmless, whereas others can cause infections.

Genome Sequencing

genomic sequencing to decipher the genetic material found in an organism or virus. Sequences from specimens can be compared to help scientists track the spread of a virus, how it is changing, and how those changes may affect public health

Lighting Solutions

Light is a trigger mechanism to tell them to start producing mushrooms. During the first stage where they are colonizing, you generally want to keep them in the dark. Once they are around 75% colonized you can introduce light.

Substrate

spawn is used to transfer mycelium onto any material from which mushrooms will grow, called a substrate. There are many different kinds of substrates, with straw, cardboard, logs, and wood chips just being a few examples.
